  1. I like the Taylor Swift picture because i feel like it really captured her personality very well. It made her look very inocent and fresh and that is exactly how she is. my opinion is that he didnt add as much color and detail into her and focused more on the background because even though she is a big hollywood star now she doesnt let it change her personality or let it corrupt her.. where as mick jagger is more crazy and fits into the whole rockstar lifestyle.

  2. My first impression of Fearless was that he did a good job at remaking the album cover and i think it looked alot like Taylor Swift. My first impression of Mick Jagger was that the colors were very bold. In Fearless my focal point is on Taylor's face, but on Mick Jagger my focal point was more on Mick Jagger's chest even though his face was more white. He used red and green to make each other pop, same when he used yellow and purple. I think that the meanings behind the work was freedom and wildness. Mick Jagger was more bold. The subject of the work was pop culture and iconic images in pop. In Fearless the pinks and blues make the painting look very calm and free. It almost makes it look quiet like Taylor is laying down. In Mick Jagger the bold colors make it look more entergetic and wild. My feelings are the same from the first impression but I don't like the Mick Jagger painting. I think that the paiting was too bold and blocky. I like the Fearless painting alot. i like how it is calm and quiet. I don't like the hair on Mick but i love the hair on Taylor. I would like to see more of his work on pop artists i know.

  3. Mindlessness, I go back to that word every time I look at his work. There were negative comments during the veiwing of his artwork, and I have to say every last one I totally disagreed with. He expressed the emotions of both artist vividly in his painting. The saying,"Paint me a mental picture." Thats what he did, he withdrew lyrics and on stage emotions, dragging them across canvas with a paintbrush, harvesting energy with his hand. - (thats deep) In Taylor Swifts painting, he made excellent use of his blue's, in her hair. He caputured the timid emotion, and cuddled with it,blanketing every inch of the negative surface with hot reds and yellows - I call it spice. The MJ was fantastic, he shows another type of blissful freedom, the openess I felt was shutdown by dominance and thats probally the emotion he protrays on stage. Like he commands the crowd with an iron fist. I believe both paintings showed personality and definately painted the lyrics on the canvas.

  4. When I first looked at the Taylor Swift painting, my eyes quickly focused on her hair. The way it transitions from the blue to the blonde is what I love about it. In my opinion, the piece looks a lot like Taylor Swift. Im not a huge fan of the background but it will do I guess. After looking at the painting closely, I noticed the almost "glow" that Peter Max gave Taylor in it. It really makes her stand out and looks great. I do not have many complaints about this one. As far as Mick Jagger goes, I love the colors. Peter Max could not have chose a better variety of colors for this piece. I really like how Peter Max put down the bright red/orange behind Mick Jagger so that he would stand out even more. It seems to me that Peter Max was really creative with this piece. I don't like, however, the way the hair looks.
